First Family Day of 2016 is CANCELED

WE ARE SORRY TO ANNOUNCE THAT THIS EVENT HAS NOW BEEN CANCELED DUE TO THE WEATHER!

To celebrate the beginning of the PHWFF 2016 fishing season, we have yet another

Family Day at Lake Lehow!

All veterans, volunteers, sponsors, families and others are invited to join us for a fun day fishing at Lake Lehow.

This event will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, at Lake Lehow.

Veterans are asked to arrive between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, as the gates close at 10 AM. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:00 AM to help with setup.

Lake Lehow is located south of Chatfield State Park. The entrance is located off the Waterton Canyon Parking Lot, across from the Kassler Center (11250 Waterton Rd. Littleton, CO)

Join us for hours of fabulous free fly fishing in a well stocked pond. If you do not have the gear, we are happy to provide it to you for this event. You will not need a fishing license for this event.

We will also provide free lunch with burgers and hotdogs, but would really appreciate if you could bring a side dish (salad, baked beans, etc.) to share.

As we need a head count to plan for lunch, it is imperative that you RSVP BY 4/27 11:59PM and let us know that you will attend and how many people will be in your party. Attendees who RSVP’ed will receive a meal ticket upon signing in at the event to guarantee their luncheon.

To RSVP, click here to sign up as a veteran for the event. If you have questions, please leave us a message on our voicemail line (720-515-1366). Volunteers are urged to not sign up here but to respond to the email with the link to the signup genius page.

We hope to see you there!

Beginners in the class will also have half a day on the water with one of our volunteers to be determined at the class. You will receive a certificate for successful completion of the class.

For more information please follow this link.
New sessions may be added based on demand.

In addition to the formal classes Bill Cronin has kindly added New Meet-ups! These are informal sessions on a drop in basis at Overland Pond Park
(955 W Florida Ave, Denver)

This will be a chance for practicing rigging up and casting without any pressure of a trip.

The park has a small pond for drys and streamers and the river is close by to practice your nymphing drifts.
Bill Cronin will be available near the pond for assistance. There’s a good chance there will be some experienced fly fishers (PHW volunteers) for some one on one questions and demos.

To participate: Please make sure your signed PHW releases are up to date
Must haves: fishing license/eye protection
Nice to have: hat, sunscreen, coffee, chair, water.
Something to consider during the day: The outhouse is a bit of a walk.

Bill will have 3-4 of his personal fly rods available if you don’t have your equipment yet.
