Upcoming Monthly Meeting!!!

Get ready for an epic PHWFF meeting this Tuesday at Mickey’s Top Sirloin! We are excited to present our NEW Veteran outreach presentation along with an update to our NEW administrative methods and objectives for the program. This includes, introducing our new system and various procedures we have been testing out over the past couple of weeks. The best part of all this… is it allows us to better serve our Disabled Veteran community! To top off the night we get to celebrate the success of a few trips by seeing great pictures and hearing some great fishing stories. We hope to see your there!

Where: Mickey’s Top Sirloin – 6950 Broadway, Denver, CO 80221

When: Tuesday, September 13th, 2016

Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm

New classes starting soon!

The summer is slowing down, but PHWFF Denver is not! We have one class starting in September, one in October. Both have still open spots, so sign up now!

Starting in September: Fly Casting and Rigging Class
The class consists of two sessions of casting instructions and for beginners an additional half to full day on the water with one of our volunteers.  For more information on dates of classes and how to sign up, please click here.

Starting in October: Rod Building Class
You will build your own rod. Learn how to set the cork grip, wrap the guides and embellish and finish with epoxy coat. This is a 6 week class with homework. The finished rod is yours to keep. For more information on dates of classes and how to sign up, please click here.

Even more new Fly Casting Meetups!!!

PHW has added three new Meet-ups! These are informal sessions on a drop in basis at Overland Pond Park-Florida Avenue between South Santa Fe and South Platte River Drive.
(955 W Florida Ave, Denver)
This will be a chance for practicing rigging up and casting without any pressure of a trip.

****We will meet on the river just below the bridge.

Bill Cronin will be available for working on any casting or rigging (knots). There’s a good chance there will be some experienced fly fishers
(PHW volunteers) for some one on one questions and demos. Very experienced fly fishers Bob Bennish, Neil Corvino and Travis Stuckey are regulars!

To participate: Please make sure your signed PHW releases are up to date
Must haves: fishing license/eye protection
Nice to have: hat, sunscreen, coffee, chair, water.
Something to consider during the day: The outhouse is now across Florida on the edge of the golf course.
Bill will have 3-4 of his personal fly rods available if you don’t have your equipment yet.

New dates and times (more may be added in October)

Saturday August 20th 8:30AM-11:00AM

Saturday September 10th 8:30AM-11:00AM
